DMP Electronics Inc. was started in 1987 as an Industrial-Controller designer and manufacturer. Influenced by the explosive growth of the Computer industry, DMP expanded its businesses and technologies focuses to cover hardware, software & firmware. The expanded technology focuses lead DMP into the business of Processor-design, System-On-Chip design, Embedded-SBC/System design and manufacturing, and Multi-media products development.

DMP Electronics Inc. are focus on embedded, small footprint, low-power-consumption, low-heat-dissipation and able to operate in extended temperature range. DMP exiting x86 technology have proven track record and mature manufacturing & engineering resources to shorten product development schedule, minimize product development cost & risk.

In 1997, due to DMP explosive business expansion, the board of director reorganized DMP Electronics Inc. into DM&P Group.

Along with the reorganization, the board also established a new business structure. Under the reorganized business structure, DMP narrows its business focus to R&D and Manufacturing. Other members in the DM&P group are ICOP Technology Inc. and Media Stream Technologies Inc. ICOP Technology Inc. (ICOP) was form to handle embedded SBC, processor module, and embedded system businesses development. Media Stream Technologies Inc. (MSTI) was formed to handle multimedia businesses development. Each of these business units would operate independently.

The reorganized business structure also included conduit that allows individual business unit to leverage each other's technical resources and expertise. This structure provided strong competitive advantage to DM&P Group.
